Batavia City School Officials says they expect to select the next principal for Batavia High School from a pool of 30 to 40 applicants.
The deadline for applications is August 16th.
Batavia School Superintendent Chris Dailey:

"We have a pretty intense hiring process to hopefully have someone in place before the end of September, but Diane Bonarigo, we're lucky will be the interim until we have someone in place.”

Dailey says he is hopeful to have a new principal in place by the end of September.

The Genesee County Board of Elections reminds Republican voters in the towns of Bethany, Byron and Stafford that there is a primary election on September 12th.
Candidates are running for the GOP line on the November ballot for Bethany Town Justice, Byron Town Supervisor and Stafford Town Clerk.
The last day to register in person for the primaries is August 18th at the Board of Elections Office.

A Greece woman is accused of killing a man with a barbell weight. 
Cynthia Whitaker was arrested after her former boyfriend was found dead in a pool of blood at his Edgemere Drive home. 
Police say Whitaker threw the weight at Michael Taylor which hit him in the head.   She has been charged with manslaughter.

A baby is expected to survive after being abandoned for three days in a trash bag in Chemung County. 
Harriette Hoyt of Sayre, Pennsylvania has been arrested after her eight-month-old daughter was found by neighbors in a trash bag behind the Hoyt house. 
The baby is in the hospital and expected to make a full recovery.  The 17-year-old mother is charged with attempted murder.

Five Florida men are accused of defrauding Xerox. 
The men face federal charges for a scam which involved fraudulently reselling toner through a sham company. 
Prosecutors say they got about $25-million worth of toner from Xerox and illegally sold it for close to $10-million.. 
The Daytona Beach men all face up to 20-years in prison if convicted.
