Former Genesee County Sheriff Gary Maha now has a seat at the legislative table.
Maha defeated long time democrat incumbent Ed Dejaniero by just 61 votes with 79 absentees yet to be counted.
Maha wanted to dispel the notion that he was in the race for one reason
With Maha’s election, the Genesee County legislature now becomes 100-percent Republican.

Three familiar faces returned to at-large seats on the Batavia City Council.
Robert Bialkowski, Adam Tabelski and Council President Gene Jankowski were all re-elected to four year terms.

One upset in town results:
In the Town of LeRoy, former Councilman John Duyssen defeated incumbent Michael Welsh for Town Justice by 79 votes.
For LeRoy Town Council: Incumbent David Paddock won one of two council seats, the other went to newcomer James Farnholtz.

In the Town of Bergen, James Starowitz and Mark Anderson win Town Council seats;

Town of Bethany: Incumbent Town Justice Thomas McBride defeated challenger Joseph Nowakowski;
Byron Town Supervisor, the winner Roger Rouse over Gerald Heins;

Town of Stafford, Town Clerk won by newcomer Julie Scheuerlein defeated Michelle McEwen by a wide margin;
For Stafford Town Council, incumbents Ronald Panek and Robert Mattice (mah-TICE) were returned to office.

New York lawmakers will lose their pensions if convicted of a felony connected with their public duties. Voters said "yes" to that ballot question yesterday.  They also voted to authorize the use of 250 acres in the Adirondack Forest Preserve for specific purposes.  Voters said "no" to calling a convention to revise the New York State Constitution.

An Albion man killed in Monroe County crash.
21 year old Benjamin Kirby of Albion was killed in a one car crash in Gates.
Troopers report that Kirby was heading eastbound Monday afternoon on Rt. 531 when his vehicle left the roadway, crossed the median and hit a bridge.
Kirby was 2014 graduate of Albion High School and a student at RIT.
