Accused arsonist Paul Atkinson of LeRoy appeared in Genesee County Court today. Atkinson was arraigned his felony Arson charge, after allegedly burning his father’s house last June in a fit of revenge.

Atkinson limped into the courtroom this afternoon, wearing thick glasses and a county jail uniform. He pleaded not guilty to the Arson charge.

Bail remains at $50,000 dollars for Paul Atkinson. He’ll be due back in court in November.


55-year-old Anthony Nicosia, Jr. of Oakfield pleaded guilty to two counts of a felony Criminal Sexual Act.

Nicosia admitted that he had sexual contact with a 16-year-old boy this past spring in the Town of Oakfield. Under his plea deal, charges for Forcible Touching and Endangering a Child were dropped.

Nicosia will be sentenced on November 23rd. He faces up to 8 years in prison and 10 years on parole. He’ll also become a registered sex offender.

Nicosia remains imprisoned until then. Bail remains at $15,000 cash or $30,000 bond.
