Batavia High School was placed on lockdown early this afternoon.
Superintendent Margaret Puzio says the lockdown lasted only about 5 minutes. A female student, unknown age or grade, became, quote, “upset” for unknown reasons.
Police were called as the student was deemed a threat to her own safety. Other students were confined to their classrooms while law enforcement apprehended the girl.
The lockdown was promptly lifted following the incident. Puzio says any details on charges or disciplinary action will be kept confidential.
