A 17-year-old Batavia boy was sent to jail over the weekend for allegedly hosting an underage drinking party and fighting with police when they tried to break it up.
Garret Ditzel of 27 Walnut Street was jailed in lieu of $1,000 bail early Saturday morning.
Police say Ditzel hosted the party attended by 11 others ranging in age from 17 to 20. They were all ticketed for underage drinking.
A 24 year old, who was also at the party, was charged with marijuana Possession.

The 24-year-old was identified as: Armand Gioia.

New York voters will take to the polls in a rare Thursday primary this week.  The primary is usually on Tuesdays, but was moved to Thursday this year because tomorrow is 9-11. 
Local interest is focused on the GOP primary in the Town of Batavia.
Two former Board members, John Gerace and Chad Zambito are vying for the nomination to return to the board.
Gerace resigned his post earlier this year amid controversy surrounding his conduct at a firemen’s dinner. Zambito resigned a few years ago when he took a job with the Economic Development Center, a job he no longer holds.

They may be getting it right.
The latest sellout concert at Darien Lake is getting high marks from concert goers for easier access to the venue and an easier exit.
The Zac Brown band performed Saturday night.
Ashley Miller attended the show…she was also at the Jason Aldean debacle a couple of weeks ago.
She described Saturday’s experience getting in and out of the concert as, "a million times easier"
There were a eight arrests made Saturday and 14 tickets given out for underage drinking.

The Batavia City Council is meeting tonight.
City lawmakers resume meeting twice a month.
They had met only once in July and August.
Council is holding a Conference meeting and a business meeting tonight.
One item on the business agenda is a measure supporting tougher state penalties for possession of synthetic drugs.

It's been 41 years since the deadliest prison riot in U.S. history, which happened at Attica Correctional Facility. 
The four-day riot began on September 9th, 1971, and ended with the death of ten hostages and 29 inmates.
