Jacquetta Simmons is expected to be released from jail soon.
Genesee County District Attorney Lawrence Friedman said via email this afternoon that $50,000 bond was posted on behalf of the woman convicted of punching a Wal-Mart worker on Christmas Eve of 2011.
Once the order is received by the Bedford Hills Correctional Facility downstate, Simmons is expected to be immediately released, according to Friedman.
A six-month stay was issued for Simmons’s prison term at the end of November, as her defense team works to appeal her five-year prison sentence which they deem too harsh.
