The STAMP Project in the Town of Alabama is the recipient of half-a-million dollars in state money.

State Senator Michael Ranzenhofer announced the funding will be used for infrastructure and engineering work for the county’s proposed Science and Technology Advanced Manufacturing Park.

The Town of Alabama this month approved a zoning change, clearing the way for the plan developed by the county Economic Development Center to move forward. The next step is to convert 1,300 acres in the town to shovel-ready sites.

Ranzenhofer also announced a $117,330 dollar state investment in New York Craft Malt. The County EDC is assisting the Batavia-based manufacturer operate a commercial malting facility that will use locally-grown, food-grade barley for the craft and home-brewer. An existing 2,400 square-foot building will be renovated to serve as the malting facility.
