Congressman Chris Collins has been given an unusual honor for a freshman in Congress. New York’s 27th District representative he has been named as a chairman of a subcommittee.
The Republican from Clarence has been appointed to head the House Small Business Committee Subcommittee on Healthcare and Technology.
Collins was a small business owner before entering politics, and is a loud critic of the Affordable Care Act -- the health care reform law enacted in 2010. The subcommittee will have oversight over the law.
