Police in LeRoy are investigating the death of a five-month-old infant.
Police were called to a home on Main Street in LeRoy on Saturday night.
Police found a 45-year-old woman unconscious and the baby boy unresponsive.
A bystander was performing CPR on the child.
The baby was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead.
The infant was not identified, although police said he was from Elba.
LeRoy Police said there was no indication of any disturbance at the home prior to the 9-1-1 call.
A preliminary autopsy has failed to determine the child’s cause of death.
The results of further tests are pending.
LeRoy Police have not identified the woman who was found unconscious in the home.
The investigation continues.
A 61-year-old Orleans County man has been arrested for murder in the death of a woman whose body was found along a Town of Carlton road.
The grim discovery was made early yesterday on Oak Orchard River Road by a school bus driver.
The body was that of 53-year-old Rachel Miller.
Arrested and charged with Second Degree Murder was Frederick Miller.
Deputies said the two lived together in a home near where the woman’s body was found.
Although the two have the same last name, officials said they were not married and were not siblings but they declined any further comment on the relationship.
Deputies said there was some kind of altercation between the two that started inside the house and continued outside.
Officials said Rachel Miller died from an apparent blunt force wound.
A Town of Kendall man is in custody after shooting his wife, setting their home on fire and then shooting himself.
Both Linda Buehler, 58 and her husband, 64-year-old Dennis Buehler survived. They are hospitalized at Strong Memorial.
Linda told authorities she had just returned home when she was confronted by her husband. Dennis allegedly shot Linda in the shoulder. She ran out of the house, got into the family car and drove to a nearby home for help.
The Swat team was called to the Buehler house.
Before they got there, Dennis allegedly set the house on fire, walked outside and shot himself in the face.
The house burned to the ground.
Both Dennis and Linda are listed in guarded condition this morning at Strong Memorial.
The State Assembly will vote on a minimum wage bill today. The measure would raise the state's minimum wage to nine dollars an hour and tie future increases to the rate of inflation. The bill is expected to pass overwhelmingly, but could have a much harder time in the State Senate.
Patrick Kaleta won't be suiting up for the Buffalo Sabres anytime soon. The NHL has handed down a five game suspension for Kaleta for boarding the New York Rangers' Brad Richards last Sunday. Last year, Kaleta was suspended four games for a head-butting incident during a game. The latest suspension will cost him over 76-thousand dollars in salary.o
