Francis Smith, 19, of Batavia was in County Court this afternoon where he accepted a plea deal.
Wearing an orange jumpsuit from the Genesee County Jail and handcuffs, Smith pleaded guilty to two counts of second-degree attempted burglary, a class D violent felony.
Francis was facing eight charges for his alleged involvement in several burglaries this year. He was caught in the act in a house on Washington Avenue on New Years Day. He pleaded guilty to illegally entering that residence with intent to commit a crime therein, as well as one on South Main Street.
He is scheduled to be sentenced May 2. He faces up to 14 years in prison.
Also in County Court today was Nicholas Antonucci, 25, of Alexander who is currently locked up on a charge out of WyomingCounty.
He entered a plea of not guilty to charges in an indictment related to stealing snowmobiles.
