Two young people are dead, three others injured, when their SUV collided with a tractor trailer in the Monroe County community of Wheatland.
The five were returning home yesterday from their jobs at a summer school program in Genesee County for special needs children.
Killed were the driver of the car, 21-year-olld Taylor Binnert and a front seat passenger, 20-year-old Christopher Peterson, both of Caledonia.
The three injured were identified as: Emily Peterson and Michaela Murphy, both 17; and 20 year old Joanne Krutchen. The three passengers were also from the Caledonia area.
The crash occurred on North Road and the Riga-Mumford Road late yesterday morning. Deputies said the SUV had stopped at the intersection but then pulled into the path of the tractor trailer.Investigators said the driver of the SUV may have mistaken the intersection for a four-way stop.
Authorities do not suspect alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash.
Former Genesee County District Attorney Ernest Found Sr. has died.
Mr. Found served as district attorney from 1965 to 1974.
Calling hours will be held Thursday at H.E. Turner Funeral Home.
Mr. Found was 86.
A domestic incident leads to charges against a Stafford man.
Deputies arrested 23-year-old Isaiah Munroe on charges of Criminal Obstruction of Breathing, harassment and endangering the welfare of a child.
Deputies say as the domestic incident became physical an 8-month old child was left unattended.

State Police are looking for a dark blue sport utility vehicle as they investigate the murders of a woman and her adult daughter in Wayne County. Terri and Stacey Moulton were feeding a neighbor's cat as a favor when they apparently interrupted a burglary in progress. The women were found dead inside the home Sunday afternoon. The vehicle being sought by police is a mid sized, dark blue SUV that could be a Mercury Mountaineer.
