A Batavia man is accused of a strong-armed burglary at 7-11.

34-year-old Michael Kraatz is in jail with no bail set on felony charges of Robbery and Grand Larceny as well as Resisting Arrest.

Batavia Police was called to the convenience store on East Main Street at 4 a.m. Sunday morning for the report of a strong-armed robbery. Kraatz allegedly entered the store, grabbed the clerk who was working and demanded money. He left on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash, according to police.

Officers were not able to locate Kraatz immediately, but found his car in a driveway on Spruce Street. Police say he tried to flee the house as patrols converged on the house and was apprehended on North Spruce Street after a short foot chase.

Kraatz is due in court Wednesday.
