An Alexander man is arrested for allegedly stealing a large quantity of copper wire from a wind mill station in Wyoming County.
Todd Arnold, 44, of Broadway Road is charged with two counts of third degree grand larceny as well as second-degree criminal mischief – all felonies.
Arnold is currently incarcerated in the Genesee County Jail on unrelated charges. He was arraigned on the newest ones and re-committed to jail on an additional $150,000 bail.
The Woming County Sheriff’s Office offered a $1,000 reward in September for the arrest and conviction of a suspect for the theft of nearly 4,000 lbs. of large-diameter copper wire. Deputies said it was taken on three separate occasions since June. The Wind Farm Power Station on Centerline Road in Orangeville was under construction at the time of the thefts.
Arnold was charged with the theft following an investigation and assistance from the public.
