ORIGINAL STORY:

Local lawmen are scouring the area for a bank robber.Around 2:15 this afternoon a suspect entered the Five Star Bank on East Main St. and passed a note to a teller.
No weapon was displayed.
Police have not said if the suspect fled with any money.
The suspect is described as a white woman, 25 to 26 years old, wearing a gray sweatshirt, black sweatpants and a black hat.
Police are looking for a gray Honda as a possible getaway vehicle.

 

UPDATE (6:00 p.m.)

Batavia Police is asking for the public’s help as it investigates a bank robbery.

At around 2:15 Monday afternoon, a suspect entered the Five Star Bank on East Main St. and passed a note to a teller.

The note indicated the suspect possessed a gun, but no firearm was displayed.

Police are now searching for the suspect.

“The suspect was described as a white female in her mid-20s, 5’7” to 5’8” in height, slim build,” Det. Sgt. Pat Corona told WBTA Monday evening. “She had a distinctive bright pink tattoo of a butterfly on the left side of her neck. She entered the bank on foot and left on foot. No vehicle was observed.”

Corona says the woman fled with an undetermined amount of cash.
