The collision, which only involved the drivers of the two cars which crashed head-on, occurred just before 2:30 this afternoon at Main Road, or Route 5 near Lake Road in Pembroke.
UPDATE (5:49): The Genesee County Sheriff's Office has released the names of those involved.
61-year-old Mary J. Smith of Pembroke was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the van, 55-year-old Victoria A. Zimmer of Clarence, was transported to ECMC by Mercy Flight with serious injuries.
Chief Deputy Dibble says the cause of the crash is not immediately apparent.

The arrest stems from a complaint initiated during the evening hours of April 15 when another teen was found “highly impaired” on the grounds of LeRoy High School and needed to hospitalized.
UPDATE: The LeRoy Police Department says the defendant is Austin Nicometo of North Street. The charge is a felony because the other teen is under 18.
