GCC Athletics Update: Swimming and Diving

Cougars Compete at WNYAC Tri-Meet
The Genesee Swimming and Diving Teams swam well at the Western New York Athletic Conference Tri-Meet vs Erie Community College and host Monroe Community College.
The men’s team of Tyler Stachowiak, Ethan Heim, Ryan Mahaney, and Evan Fix placed second in the 400-medley relay. Tyler Stachowiak and Weston Head placed inside the top four in the 1650 freestyle. Carlitos Sanchez and Brandon Brown placed well in the 200 freestyle. Evan Fix was the highest Genesee swimmer in the 50 freestyle. Evan Fix and Tyler Stachowiak placed inside the top three in the 100 freestyle. Ethan Heim placed third in the 200 IM. Ryan Mahaney placed first in the 100 butterfly. Carlitos Sanchez and Weston Head finished second and fourth respectively in the 100 backstroke while Brandon Brown placed second in the 500 freestyle. Ethan Heim placed third in the 100 breaststroke. The team of Mahaney, Brown, Head, and Sanchez placed first in the 400 freestyle relay. Tyler Stachowiak placed second in the 1000 Freestyle. Ethan Heim was the highest-finishing Cougar swimmer in the 50 breaststroke.
The women’s team of Elizabeth Richardson, Natalie Amico, Rayelle Merrell, and Ana Carolina Cerezer Pinto placed second in the 400-medley relay. That team also placed second in the 400 freestyle relay. Rayelle Merrell and Ana Cerezer placed second and fourth respectively in the 50 freestyle. Libby Richardson won the 200 IM. Natalie Amico placed first in the 100 butterfly. Natalie Amico placed first in the 50 Butterfly.
