A Florida man accused of using kitchen cutlery to attack two brothers in Middlebury.
39 year old Michael Finch is facing a 19 count felony indictment for last week’s attack on a 28 year old Middlebury man and his 13 year old brother.
The indictment alleges the two were stabbed and slashed violently with a butcher knife and meat cleaver.
The two victims were able to fend off Finch’s attack but sustained serious injuries in the onslaught of stabs and slashes.
The brothers were hospitalized in intensive care with wounds covering their upper bodies including their heads.

Plea deal may lead to possible prison time for an Orleans County Attorney.
Albion Attorney, 32 year old Kevin Allen pleaded guilty to Scheme to Defraud in Orleans County Court after being accused of systematically defrauding over a dozen clients.
In January Allen was arrested and accused of collecting payment from up to 15 victims for legal services such as divorce proceedings and civil lawsuits that were never filed or completed.
Genesee County Judge Charles Zambito presided in the case in the court in Albion yesterday.
As part of the deal Allen had to surrender his license to practice law.
He could be facing between 1 and 1/3 to 4 years in prison when he is sentenced on November 1st.
Allen is currently free after posting $10,000 bail.

Funding for the Genesee County Airport announced.
Yesterday Senator Chuck Schumer and Senator Kirsten Gillibrand announced the securing of $1.8 million in federal funding for the Genesee county airport.
The funding which is provided from the US Department of Transportation will be used to reconstruct the taxiways and lighting at the airport.

Adoption Services being phased out by Catholic Charities over state regulations.
According to a statement from the Catholic Charities of Buffalo it has begun the process to phase out current foster care and adoption services.
The organization said they cannot comply with state regulations while conforming to the teaching of the Catholic Church on the nature of marriage.
The program currently includes 55 certified foster homes, with 34 children in care in 24 homes.
Catholic Charities has provided adoption services since it was founded nearly 95 years ago.

Batavia beaten in the first but comes back against the Crosscutters.
The Muckdogs were defeated in the first match against Williamsport 2 to 3 but came back in the second game of the night to win 1 to nothing.

The Buffalo Bills will take the field for their third preseason game this weekend.
They’ll be taking on the Cincinnati Bengals Sunday afternoon at New Era Field.
Quarterback Josh Allen will get the start for the Bills, while Nathan Peterman could also see some playing time.
The Bills start their regular season September 9th against the Baltimore Ravens.
