Common Garden Mistakes will be the topic for the Master Gardeners garden talk series on Thursday, May 7, 12:15, at the Cornell Cooperative extension, 420 East Main Street, Batavia. Bring your lunch to this free talk.

The Holland Land Office Museum, West Main Street, Batavia, will host a morning children's craft, Saturday, May 9, 10am to noon. Children ages 5 to 12 are invited to make Fairy Gardens. To register call 343-4727.

Byron Ladies Auxiliary ,  will host a chicken bbq, Memorial Day, Monday, May 25, 11:15 until sold out - take out ONLY, at at the Fire Hall, Rte. 262.

The Genesee County Animal Shelter will collect scrap metal, Saturday, May 30, and on Sunday, May 31, 11am to 3pm, at their facility, 3841 West Main Street Road, Batavia. Propane tanks, ac units, and refrigerators can NOT be accepted.
