One person was killed, two other seriously injured, when their car crashed into a tree after being pursued by police.
The crash happened late yesterday afternoon on Route 98 in Alexander.
A car that was initially pursued by Warsaw Police in Wyoming County, then later by Attica Police, was found slammed into a tree on Route 98.
The driver, 22 year old Cleveland Johnson of Ft Lauderdale, Florida, was pronounced dead at the scene.
One male passenger and one female passenger were injured and taken to ECMC in Buffalo.
Both Warsaw and Attica police had just terminated the chase due to high speeds it had reached when the crash was discovered. It is unknown why the occupants of the car were fleeing police.

A fracas at Batavia Downs leads to the arrest of a Rochester woman. 51 year old Renee Symonds was arrested for allegedly assaulting two security guards after she refused their order to leave.

Prosecutors are calling for ex-Republican Congressman Chris Collins to spend nearly five years in prison.
Collins, who represented the 27th Congressional District- which includes Genesee County – is set to be sentenced Friday after pleading guilty to federal insider trading charges.
Collins’ lawyers are planning to ask for no jail time.

New York Senator Chuck Schumer is responding to President Trump’s retweet of a photo-shopped image showing Schumer and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi in Muslim headwear.
The image also had a photo of the Iranian flag behind Schumer and Pelosi. Schumer sent out a tweet of his own questioning Trump about how low he could go and asking Republicans how long they’ll continue to defend the President’s actions.

The United Way of Genesee County will hold its annual Day of Caring this year on May 13th.
The popular event draws in more than 400 volunteers who perform fix-up projects at 30 non-profit agencies throughout the county. If you are interested in participating contact the United Way at 343-8141.
