Perry resident arrested on child porn charges.
Livingston County Lawmen report the arrest of a former Village of Avon resident following a joint investigation with the FBI’s Child Exploitation Task Force.
37 year old Robert Menard currently a resident of Perry was arrested and charged with felony counts of both Promoting and Possessing a Sexual Performance by a Child.
Federal agents executed a search warrant at Menard’s Avon residence in January to seize electronic devices and Menard was arrested after forensic examinations of those devices allegedly revealed he was in possession of child porn.
As he was being detained before arraignment The District Attorney’s Office recommended bail be set at $2,000.
At arraignment, Town of Geneseo Justice Kathleen Houston went against the recommendation of the District Attorney’s Office and released Menard on his own recognizance.
An Oakfield man jailed for a domestic dispute in Alabama.
State Police based out of Batavia report the arrest 51 year old Douglas Sprague of Oakfield after being called to a Town of Alabama residence Tuesday morning for a reported domestic incident.
Sprague was charged with a felony count of Criminal Contempt for having prior offenses and Harassment in the second degree with physical contact.
He was ordered to be held pending his next court appearance.
Governor Andrew Cuomo has submitted 123 vetoes in accordance with Article 7 of the State Constitution to eliminate pages of so-called unnecessary language from the 2020 Enacted Budget.
The vetoes include 51 appropriations pertaining to state agency operations. 26 appropriations are more than seven years old and have had no disbursements over the most recent seven-year period.
25 appropriations are fully expended and one due to fiscal impacts.
6 appropriations are vetoed on constitutional grounds, 6 are duplicative of other reappropriations for the same purpose, and 8 were previously vetoed.
It remains uncertain how much and if any of the vetoes will reduce the overall budget amount.
A household survey is being conducted by the City of Batavia to support a grant opportunity.
The City is considering applying for Federal grant assistance to help income eligible owner-occupied single-family homeowners with essential home improvements.
Grant funds would enable homeowners to make home repairs with grant and deferred-loan funding.
