A Livingston County man arrested for car theft in the Town of Batavia.
23 year old Daniel Lewis of Lima was collared for allegedly stealing a car earlier this month from Clinton St in Batavia.
Lewis was issued a court appearance ticket on a charge of Grand Larceny in the 4th degree.

 

Genesee County Republicans have endorsed their slate of candidates for the November general election. Getting the GOP are incumbents: Eric Adams for Family Court; William Sheron for Sheriff; Treasurer Scott German and Assemblyman Steve Hawley. GOP Chair Dick Seibert said local Republicans endorsed Edward Rath the Third for State Senate

 

County Republicans have yet to endorse a candidate for the 27th Congressional District seat once held by Chris Collins. At least four Republicans have announced interest in running.

 

The latest data from the state Department of Health shows the flu is continuing to spread rapidly across New York. There were 13-thousand confirmed cases of the virus during the week ending January 18th. That’s a 22-percent increase from the week before. One bit of good news is the number of people hospitalized due to complications from the flu was down five-percent.

 

Congratulations going out today to members of the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office.
Several members received departmental awards for 2019.
Among them were:
Investigator Christopher Parker was named Officer of the Year. Parker is a 22 year veteran of the sheriff’s office.
A distinguished Service Award was given to Emergency Dispatcher Steven Robinson, who has been with the Sheriff’s Office for 30 years.
