A home on Judge rd in Alabama went up in a blaze after a fire started in the chimney.  The all 3 occupants and dogs were able to get safely outside and the fire was put out by Alabama firefighters.  Seven departments were activated to quell the flames.

Veterans get to take 11 percent off their grocery bill at Tops friendly markets on Veteran’s day next Wednesday.  Customers should present proof of service that they, or an immediate family member are a U.S. veteran, active duty, reserve or retired military personnel to automatically receive an 11-percent discount off of their total purchase that day.

New York’s new testing instead of the 2 week quarantine goes into effect today.  All travelers coming into New York must test negative for COVID within 3 days of entering the state.  They must then quarantine for 3 days and then test negative again.  This applies to every state other than those that border NY state.

The International peace garden foundation which is headquartered in Batavia is selling a history of the Batavia peace garden book to fundraise for the peace garden itself.  The book is written by Barbara Ann Toal, cofounder of the garden along with Paula Savage.  Copies can be purchased for 20 dollars at Oliver’s Candies and sweet life country store.
