Annual Meeting takes place March 8 at Batavia Downs
BATAVIA, NY – The Genesee County Economic Development Center (GCEDC) announced today that founder and CEO of Edge Factor, Jeremy Bout will be the keynote speaker for this year’s Annual Meeting.
Bout is an award-winning storyteller and director, public speaker, and entrepreneur. His creative passion and energy, and desire to challenge perceptions and spotlight amazing people and technology enables communities to strengthen connections between schools, students and parents with companies and industries.
Edge Factor provides an innovative web platform of high-quality videos and interactive tools for students, parents, teachers, counselors, and businesses that help introduce the stakeholders across the county to STEM career pathways that align with the career paths currently in demand across the region. The GCEDC and the Genesee Valley Educational Partnership (GVEP), the 2019 Partner of the Year, teamed to bring Edge Factor to Genesee County schools.
“When students, teachers, and parents experience Edge Factor stories, hope is sparked, ideas are formed, messages are conveyed, and follow-up action is taken,” Bout said. “In Genesee County, economic development and educational leaders are connecting students and parents with local businesses and educational pathways to careers available right in their own backyard.”
“Jeremy’s work with Edge Factor has paved the way for career opportunities for young people all over the country and we are thrilled to not only bring the program to Genesee County, but to hear his remarks at our Annual Meeting,” said President and CEO of GCEDC, Steve Hyde.
14 school districts in the Genesee Valley Educational Partnership have signed up for Edge Factor, which will provide a unified method of connecting students to STEAM and skilled trades careers through Edge Factor’s streaming video platform, which is stocked with videos and interactive tools filmed and produced by Edge Factor, including inspirational content and soft skills training.
