The thruway rest areas are getting an upgrade.  450 million dollars is going to upgrade the thruway rest areas with new restaurants, EV charging stations, and updating the buildings.  The Clarence and Pembroke service areas will get an upgrade that will include more outdoor seating.  No other details have been released about what specific areas will be getting.  New Restaurants include shake Shack, Panera, Popeyes, Burger King, Panda Express, Chick-Fil-A, Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts. This is the first big upgrade that the rest areas will be getting since the 90s.

South Main Street Road near the Wortendyke Road intersection in Batavia will be closed beginning Monday the 12th for a culvert replacement project.  The project will take approximately eight weeks to complete, and that portion of the road will not be passable to traffic or emergency vehicles during that time.  The public will be notified again once the road is reopened.

Elba will be having its first concert of the summer series on Saturday the 10th at the Elba Village Park.  EBC Music and More 2.0 starts at noon with bobby and the Pedestrians then next up will be Genesee ted and Savage Cabbage following him.  At a smaller stage will be the Elba guys.  Bring your own chair, food and drinks will be available for purchase.  There will be a collection taken up for the Down Syndrome Parent Support Group.  The music is free.
