An Attica man is facing a felony charge of sexual abuse.
21 year old Cody Crandall of North Main Street, Attica, is accused of having sexual contact with a five year old girl.
Authorities said the alleged abuse happened at a home in Perry.
Crandall has been locked up in the Wyoming County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail.

More road construction in Batavia.
The city announcing today that Tracy Avenue will be closed to all traffic this Thursday between Washington Avenue and North Street.
The repaving work is weather dependent. If it rains the work will be re-scheduled until after Labor Day.

A former Churchville resident will be performing at the memorial service for late Arizona Senator John McCain. The Washington Post reports opera singer Renee Fleming will be performing the ballad “Danny Boy” at Washington National Cathedral Saturday. Fleming is a graduate of SUNY Potsdam and the Eastman School of Music.

Batavia and Genesee County remain under a Heat Advisory until 8 o’clock tonight.
Temperatures have reached into the high 80’s but increased humidity makes it feel even warmer.
The conditions could cause people to suffer from weather-related illnesses like heat exhaustion or heat stroke.
