A 17 year old has been arrested as an accomplice in a series of business burglaries in Batavia.
The teenager has not been identified.
Police say he was arrested on a Grand Jury indictment accusing him of four counts of felony burglary.
The break-ins all occurred from January 4th through the 7th. Most of the businesses were located on or near Ellicott Street.
Parolee Christopher Sprague had previously been arrested in connection with the same crimes.

Governor Cuomo is blaming members of the state Senate for Amazon’s decision to cancel a deal to build a headquarters in New York City. Opponents criticized the reported tax breaks the state would’ve given Amazon.
The facility was projected to bring at least 25,000 jobs to the region.

Batavia Police are trying to locate a missing adult.
Her name is Jessica Deridder.
She was last seen a week ago.
Police say she may be in the company of Luis Ramos-Mercado.
If you have any information about Jessica you are asked to call Batavia Police.

 

 

There’s a new manager for the Batavia Muckdogs.
He is Jorge Hernandez. a 13 year coaching veteran for the Miami Marlins, the Muckdogs Parent club.
Hernandez is taking over for former manager Mike Jacobs who was promoted to manage the Clinton Iowa affiliate after 2 seasons in Batavia.

There’s been another spike in flu cases across New York State. The State Health Department says nearly 86-hundred new cases were reported during the week ending February 9th.
That puts the total number of people treated for the flu this season at over 43,000.
