New York State lawmakers are thinking about increasing the legal age to buy cigarettes from 18 to 21.
The law – which has already passed the State Assembly – applies to tobacco and e-cigarettes. The measure now goes to the State Senate.
The governor has pledged to sign it, part of his campaign to reduce the number of smokers in New York State.

Goart! is doing better financially.
Exec Director Gregory Hallock, says new programs and fundraisers put the organization 40-thousand dollars in the black for last year. The Celebrity Bartender program was a big hit and was credited with bringing younger people into Goart!
Hallock spoke to the county legislature’s Human Services Committee.
