A Genesee County manslaughter case may be in jeopardy over the actions of a Grand Jury stenographer.
48 year old Jennifer Serrano of Irving is accused in a fatal hit and run last summer in the Town of Darien.
Police say Serrano was driving home from the Jason Aldean concert at Darien Lake when she struck and killed 18 year old Connor Lynsky.
Defense lawyers for Serrano said the stenographer covering the grand jury proceedings made an audio recording of the testimony which is not allowed. They want the case dismissed.
District Attorney Lawrence Friedman learned of the recording, notified the defense. Friedman believes, however, the recording will not jeopardize the case.
There’s a High Wind Advisory posted for tomorrow in Genesee, Wyoming and Orleans Counties.
The advisory runs from 6 tomorrow morning through 8 tomorrow night.
The National Weather Service forecasts winds out of the southwest at 20 to 30 miles per hour with gusts up to 50.
A school athletic trainer in Conesus is facing federal charges of enticing a young girl into child porn.
Police Say it all started with text messages between the girl and trainer over an injury the girl suffered. The texts eventually led to nude pictures and eventually to sexual contact.
The school trainer has been identified as 30 year old Austin Pratt of Conesus. He faces 15 to 40 years in prison.
He was previously arrested on state charges of rape.
18 year old Lucas Birkby of Darien might just be the strongest teenager in New York State and one of the strongest in the country.
Lucas won five medals in a Strongman powerlifting competition over the weekend. He performed an 18-in deadlift of 700 pounds. In June Birkby will compete in national completion in in Columbus, Ohio.
