The victim of a fatal hit and run pedestrian accident in Geneseo has been identified.
Sheriff’s deputies say 24 year old Nicholas Iannarelli of East Amherst was struck and killed early Saturday morning on Route 63 near Court Street in Geneseo.
The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public for any information or video surveillance in the area of Route 63. (585-243-7100)
Iannarelli was a former SUNY Geneseo student who may have been in the area for an Alumni Weekend Festival.
One person is being taken to UMMC with injuries suffered in a crash this morning in Bergen.
The mishap occurred near the intersection of West Bergen and Dublin Roads.
National Grid was called to repair a broken utility pole.
Firefighters from two volunteer departments respond to a tractor trailer fire in Bethany.
That fire yesterday afternoon activated volunteers from Bethany and Alexander.
The truck driver escaped the flames unhurt.
The cab of the big rig was destroyed.
Roberta “Bobbi” Norton was recently recognized with a Western New York Educational Service Council Award for Excellence.
Norton is the executive assistant to the superintendent and assistant clerk /secretary to the Board of Education for the Batavia City School District.
Norton has worked for the District for more than 38 years, beginning as a clerical intern in the business office, continuing with positions in schools and administrative offices, and, for the last 10 years, in the superintendent’s office.
Former State Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver is in Federal Court in Lower Manhattan today for his corruption re-trial. Silver was flanked by attorneys and told the media heading in that he’s wonderful after being asked how he’s feeling. The Democrat was convicted of a bribery scheme in 2015 but that conviction was later tossed by a judge after the Supreme Court narrowed the legal definition of public corruption. There’s a new defense and prosecution team and a new jury but much of the same evidence is expected to be presented.
