20 year old TeeSean Ayala of Batavia appeared for sentencing in Genesee County Court this morning after accepting a plea deal on a weapons charge back in May.
Ayala was arrested last November after ditching a handgun in the County Manager’s Driveway and since that time he has reportedly cooperated with authorities to provide information on investigations into a number of other burglaries.
Judge Charles Zambito provided lenience to Ayala before his sentencing which was rescheduled so he could remain with his family at home for the birth of his first child.
After Ayala made a tearful apology and plea to the judge he was sentenced to 5 years in prison to be followed by 5 years post release supervision.
District Attorney Lawrence Friedman, who respected Zambito’s decision, spoke about the plea and the pending counts it satisfied…
There were as many as 7 burglary charges pending against Ayala stretching back to 2015 that will be satisfied as long as there is no appeal to his sentence or conviction.
Ayala will also be required to pay nearly $10,000 in restitution.
