Batavia Downs Hosts Annual Vet’s Night
Western Regional Off-Track Betting and Batavia Downs Gaming & Hotel proudly hosted their annual Vet’s Night, raising funds for the Rochester Veterans Court Mentors program.
Batavia Downs has partnered with the group since 2015, supporting volunteer veterans who live by the motto “leave no soldier behind.” These mentors provide transportation to doctor and rehab appointments, and most importantly, guide fellow veterans through Veterans Court, helping them transition back into society when facing legal challenges.
At Thursday’s event, Lead Mentor Ray Melens accepted a check for $9,366 from Batavia Downs Vice President of Operations, Sean Schiano.
Organizers thanked Steuben County Director Mike Horton, who served as auctioneer, and all who contributed to the August 16 fundraiser.
Every dollar raised goes directly to veterans, ensuring support for those who have sacrificed so much.
