GCC Athletics Update: Athletes of the Week

Grace Masse (Volleyball) and James Lighton (Men’s Soccer) were named Genesee Athletes of the Week for the Week of September 23, 2019

BATAVIA, NY… Midfielder James Lighton from men’s soccer and setter Grace Masse from women’s volleyball were named Genesee Athletes of the Week for the week of September 23.
James Lighton scored a goal and added an assist in Genesee’s victory over #10 Cayuga Community College last Wednesday. The sophomore Captain from Southend, England scored his first goal of the season in that contest against the Spartans.
Grace Masse from women’s volleyball was named Female Athlete of the Week. As a setter, the Medina, NY native played very well in pod play and in single match action against Monroe Community College. Grace currently sits second on the team in assists, averaging over six assists per set.
The nationally-ranked men’s soccer team is on the road on Tuesday at Tompkins Cortland Community College before hosting Erie Community College Thursday night, and CCBC Essex Sunday afternoon.
Volleyball is on the road on Thursday at Mercyhurst Northeast in a WNYAC contest before playing Erie, Niagara, and Jamestown CC at the Finger Lakes CC Pod on Saturday.
