Palmer and Heers named Genesee Athletes of the Week
BATAVIA, NY… Men’s lacrosse player Austin Palmer and women’s lacrosse player Bri Heers were named Genesee Athletes of the Week for the week of April 15.
Austin Palmer of the nationally-ranked men’s lacrosse team tied a school record with 10 goals in a single game, in Genesee’s 27-6 victory at Finger Lakes Community College. So far this season, the Hamburg, NY native has scored 23 goals and added seven assists. The Cougars (4-4) play Tompkins Cortland Community College Thursday afternoon in their regular season home finale at 4pm.
Bri Heers has scored seven goals and added two assists in the last two games for Genesee, both victories over North Country CC. Saturday against the Saints, the Newfane, NY native scored three goals, including the tying goal to force overtime, and then assisted on the game-winning goal. Sunday against North Country, Bri scored four goals and assisted on one. The women (4-4) are in action this week on Friday, April 19 as they host Harford Community College at 2pm.
