Cougars Blank Jayhawks
BATAVIA, NY… The no.6 nationally-ranked Genesee Community College men’s soccer team defeated the Jamestown CC Jayhawks 5-0 in NJCAA Region III soccer action Wednesday afternoon.
Ollie Ardle scored on a PK to put the Blue and Gold on the board. Hiago Barros de Souza found the back of the net off his own corner kick to double the Cougars lead. National player of the Week Ed Port scored halfway through the second half to increase the Cougars lead to 3-0. Barros de Souza would score his second of the game with Port getting the assist to widen the lead to 4-0. Peter Rystad would score off a Futa Kubo assist to finish the scoring.
Marcus Kenline and Adam Willig split time in net to record the shutout.
Genesee (10-2) returns to action on Saturday, October 5 at Herkimer College at 3pm.
