GCC Athletics Update: Three GCC Athletes Named Soccer All-Americans

Albuquerque, Hall, and Yamashita named NJCAA All-Americans
Rodrigo Albuquerque, Sam Hall, and Miko Yamashita were recently named NJCAA All-Americans. Hall and Albuquerque from men’s soccer were named First Team All-Americans while Yamashita from women’s soccer was named Second Team All-American.
Albuquerque was also named NJCAA Region III Player of the Year and both he and Hall were placed on the NJCAA Region III All-Region First Team. Albuquerque had a team-high 32 goals and handed out 12 assists this season for Genesee. Hall finished the season with eight goals three of which were game winning goals, and four assists. The Cougars reached the NJCAA Division III Men’s Soccer National Championships Semi-Finals as they fell to the eventual National Champion Richland College.
Miko Yamashita scored 15 goals and handed out 20 assists this season for the reigning NJCAA Region III District B Champions. Yamashita was also named to the NJCAA Region III All-Region First Team. The Cougars reached the NJCAA Division III Women’s Soccer Championships.
