Ashworth’s Three Goals Power Cougars past Jayhawks on Sophomore Night
BATAVIA, NY… The no.10 nationally-ranked Genesee Community College women’s soccer team defeated the Jamestown Community College Jayhawks 9-0 Wednesday night as the Cougars honored their sophomore class prior to the Western New York Athletic Conference contest.
Three goals and an assist from Julia Ashworth powered the Cougars offense. Alexa Jordan would score two goals with Madison Papaj, Diante Scheepers, Sarah Gregori and Khiva Huxhold all scoring a goal for the Blue and Gold. Assisting on the goals were Diante Scheepers, Alana Wilson-Drewery, Ashley Hearn, and Autumn Ressue.
Alexa Salatel recorded the shutout in net for Genesee.
Genesee (8-3) returns to action on Saturday, October 5 at 12:30pm as they travel to Herkimer College to play the Generals.
