Hanes Found Guilty of Murder

A Genesee County Court jury has found Richard Hanes guilty of Murder in the second degree.
Hanes was accused in last summer’s beating death of Ray Morgan on Liberty Street in Batavia.
The seven women and five men of the jury deliberated for a total of about 3 and a half hour, returning their verdict at 2:30 this afternoon.
The panel had returned to the courtroom several times asking to review evidence and testimony.
Hanes faces a maximum of 25 years to life in prison.
