A suspect in an apparent home invasion in Stafford was shot by the homeowner Tuesday night in Stafford. The suspected intruder was taken by Mercy Flight to Strong Hospital in Rochester.
Genesee County Undersheriff Bradley Mazur said deputies responded to 6731 Clinton St. shortly after 9 last night. They learned that an intruder had entered the house, had possession of a firearm, and demanded cash.
The homeowner then was able to retrieve a long gun from his home and shoot the suspect, Mazur said.
Mazur declined to say if the homeowner and intruder knew each other. He also declined to give a condition on the man flown to the hospital.
Mazur said the investigation was in its early stages and declined further comment.
