Memorial Day in Genesee County

The COVID-19 pandemic has forced the cancellation of a number of Memorial observances.

The Memorial Day parade was canceled by City Hall and gatherings of almost any number are not permitted.
But the Genesee County Veterans Service Agency is making sure vets from our area get the recognition they deserve – even if the public cannot attend.
Observances are planned at Genesee County Park, the Batavia VA, Upton Monument and elsewhere. The largest Memorial Day Observance is at the War Memorial on the UMMC Jerome Center.
But, as Veterans Service Agency Director William Joyce tells us, it will be different this year
