The remains of a porch fire at a home on Gilhooly Road in Alexander have rekindled and brought volunteers firemen back to the scene.
The original fire was reported around 3 this morning.
All occupants were safely out of the house when firemen got to the scene.
Alexander and Batavia were first to respond, later Bethany, Darien and Pembroke along with the city’s safety team were called.
Cause is still under investigation.

As has been the case for weeks now, the price of gas is continuing to rise in Western New York. According to Triple A, the average cost for a gallon of regular in Batavia is now $3.10…that’s up a dime from last month and about 90-cents a gallon higher than a year ago.

A case of domestic violence on the Tonawanda Indian Reservation brings felony charges against a 19-year-old man.
Deputies say Ray Saile was arrested for allegedly back-handing a person he had been ordered to stay away from. He was also charged with assault for causing physical injury to another person over the age of 65.
Salie was released under supervision.

A fracas between neighbors led to the arrest of 61-year-old Thomas Tacito of Batavia.
BPD says Tacito allegedly slashed all four tires and smashed out the windows of a neighbor’s vehicle causing about $250 damage.
He was charged with felony criminal mischief. Police did not disclose the location of the incident.

Gov. Cuomo says COVID-related hospitalizations in the Empire State dropped down to 371. That’s the lowest number the state has had since the beginning of the pandemic. Throughout the state, the 7-day average positivity rate of COVID-19 is 0.36%.
