Former Attorney General Eric Schneiderman has already been replaced.
New York States former Attorney General Schneiderman stepped down yesterday in disgrace after a bombshell “New Yorker” article detailed allegations by several women of repeated abuse.
The state’s solicitor general, Barbara Underwood, was quickly sworn in as acting New York attorney general.
Governor Cuomo says she takes over as the acting AG until state lawmakers pick someone on an interim basis through a special session.
Governor Cuomo appointed a prominent Long Island district attorney as special prosecutor and special deputy attorney general to investigate and, if appropriate, prosecute Schneiderman.
Pallet fire gets out of hand on Angling Road in Corfu.
Report came in for a large fire at the Ed Arnold scrapyard in Corfu shortly before 6 last night.
East Pembroke fire along with Corfu, Indian Falls, and Town of Batavia were all dispatched to the scene and Oakfield Fire Police shut down traffic at Angling Road and West Ave.
Tankers from Elba, Alexander and Alabama were also called to the scene.
The pallet fire was said to be about 150-ft from a building at the Scrap Yard.
East Pembroke Fire crews were on scene for around 4 hours before going back into service.
Batavia City Schools continue to beef up security.
According to Superintendent Chris Dailey his vision of hiring retired Genesee County Sheriff’s deputies has finally been realized.
The district has recently hired three veteran officers to be housed at the schools…
The school also installed an entrance system that requires an ID scan in every building.
Dailey also reminded district residents that the annual school budget vote is next Tuesday.
The district’s budget calls for a tax levy increase of just under 2.4 percent.
A man is seriously injured after falling 40 feet off a silo in Genesee County.
Batavia Firefighters say the man was climbing the silo and fell when a rung on the ladder broke.
The man wasn’t identified but did suffer from multiple broken bones.
His condition isn’t known.
The Elba branch location of M and T Bank is now slated to close.
M and T Bank said all employees of the Elba branch have been offered positions with other locations.
The closing will take place on August 7th.
The closest M and T branch location to Elba is housed in Oakfield.
