Corrections Officer in Albion accused of attempted rape.
A Batavia man employed as a Corrections Officer in Albion has been indicted on sex abuse charges by a Genesee County Grand Jury.
Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 42 year old Adam Brokaw of Northern Boulevard in Batavia following investigation into an alleged incident of abuse from November of last year.
A Genesee County Grand Jury filed an indictment yesterday against Brokaw including felony charges of Attempted Rape and Sex Abuse in the first degree.
Brokaw is accused of committing the abuse following a party at a city residence last fall according to investigators.
Brokaw was released on his own recognizance and is expected back in court in September.

South Swan Street woman jailed without bail for assault with an ashtray.
Batavia police arrested 51 year old Cynthia Mack of Batavia following an alleged incident at an upper apartment of a South Swan Street address in the city last Friday night.
Mack is accused of striking another individual with an ashtray causing injury.
She faces charges of Criminal Possession of a Weapon and Assault with a Weapon in the second degree.
Mack was jailed without bail pending her appearance in city court.

State Street woman jailed without bail after bolting from Batavia police.
According to City Police State Street resident 30 year old Jessica Deridder knew she was being sought by law enforcement on an active arrest warrant for a previous crime when she decided to run from cops last week.
She was eventually apprehended on Ellicott Street and now faces an additional charge for Resisting Arrest.
Deridder was remanded to the Genesee County Jail without bail.

Gasport man busted for blowing three times the legal limit.
State Troopers out of Albion were dispatched for report of a sick or intoxicated driver northbound on State Route 63 in the town of Shelby on Saturday night.
Police stopped 37 year old Ross Vendetta of Gasport on Route 31 for reportedly crossing hazard markings.
Troopers detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage while speaking to Vendetta, and after failing multiple field sobriety tests he was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and Aggravated DWI.
Vendetta reportedly provided a breath sample with a Blood Alcohol Content of .24 percent.
He was issued traffic tickets returnable to Shelby Town Court.

Kesha Concert ends in five arrests.
Genesee County Sheriff’s deputies made a number of arrests during Sunday night’s Kesha concert at the Darien Lake Performing Arts Center.
Two were taken into custody for pot possession and two for trespassing and disorderly conduct
20 year old Joseph Patterson of Williamsville was arrested for harassment after he allegedly attempted to strike a deputy.
All five were given appearance tickets.

Muckdogs start series against Staten Island tonight.
The Ball team is in Batavia for a three game stretch against The Staten Island Yankees starting with the first pitch at 7:05 this evening.
