A Black Bear was spotted in the Town of Alabama apparently trying to cross on to route 63.
Chris Brush was on his way to church with his family Sunday morning when they spotted the bear around 10-15 yards of judge road.
Brush said they were passing by a cornfield on the north side of the road between Gorton and Maple when they saw the bear.
Chris Brush snapped a pic of the black bear which can be seen on our news partner’s website at The Batavian.

LeRoy man arrested for Unlawful Imprisonment.
35 year old Mikhail MacPherson of Gully Road was accused of preventing a victim in a domestic incident from using their phone to call for help along with allegedly preventing them from leaving the residence.
MacPherson was taken into custody by Genesee County Sheriff’s Deputies following report of the domestic incident at a Gully Road address in LeRoy just after midnight last Friday morning.
He was charged with Criminal Mischief, Menacing and Unlawful Imprisonment and is scheduled for LeRoy Town Court at a later date.

Clarence man arrested for abandoning infants in a running car.
25 year old Stephen Dewes was arrested by Troopers out of Batavia for allegedly leaving two infants in his running vehicle unattended, in the parking lot of Home Depot on Transit Road in Clarence Thursday.
Dewes is facing two counts of endangering the welfare of a child and was issued an appearance ticket returnable to Clarence Town Court at a later date.

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo isn’t backing down from President Trump.
At an event Sunday in Brooklyn, Cuomo called the president un-American and accused him of being a racist.

This comes after Trump slammed Cuomo on Twitter last week.
The New York governor said America was not that great during a campaign event, a comment he’s since walked-back.
Trump Tweeted “Big push back on Governor Andrew Cuomo of New York for his really dumb statement about America’s lack of greatness.”
The White House hasn’t responded to Cuomo’s criticism on Sunday.

LeRoy resident accused of trying to steal an Identity.
Following investigation into a complaint LeRoy Police arrested 43 year old, Ramon Gilliam of Main St, LeRoy last Thursday.
Gilliam with charged with Attempted Identity theft in the 3rd degree.
He was taken into custody and processed without incident and issued an appearance ticket for September 20th in LeRoy Town Court to answer to the charges.
Attempted Identity theft in the 3rd degree is a class B Misdemeanor.

Batavia finishes series against the Doubledays with a win.
The Muckdogs beat Auburn 4 to 2 in their last away game series ending with 2 wins and 2 losses in their latest four game stretch with the team.
The Dogs head back to West Virginia tonight to face the Black Bears for a three game series before returning to Batavia Thursday for a double header against Williamsport.

Buffalo Bills quarterback A-J McCarron is getting a second opinion on his injured throwing arm.
He was hurt during the team’s preseason game against the Cleveland Browns Friday.
Head coach Sean McDermott says the initial diagnosis for McCarron is a fractured collarbone.
The Bills return to action Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals.
