Resident on the Rez jailed for alleged assault.
The Genesee County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of 24 year old Shadow Star Jonathan of Sandhill Road Alabama on the Tonawanda Indian Reservation following investigation into an incident on the rez.
Jonathan was taken into custody for allegedly assaulting another person in October.
He was jailed on a count of second degree Assault and was ordered to be held in lieu of $10,000 bail in the Genesee County Jail.
Jonathan is expected to appear back in Alabama Town Court in February.

Livingston County lawmen arrest Lakeville resident on child porn charges.
20 year old Ryan Horan has been arrested by deputies on felony charges following a joint investigation with the FBI’s Child Exploitation Task Force.
Horan allegedly shared images of child pornography with an FBI agent during an undercover operation and numerous images of child pornography were later recovered after a search of Horan’s electronic devices.
He is charged with felony counts of Possessing and Promoting a Sexual Performance by a Child.
Horan was remanded to the custody of the Sheriff on $7,500 bail.

Another successful night of fundraising in this year’s shooting for a cure.
The Girls Basketball team in Pembroke should be proud following last night’s Shooting For a Cure fundraiser which brought in $28,000.

Pembroke may have lost the match against the Lady Irish of Notre Dame with a final score of 50 to 31 however there were only winners on the court last night.
Now in its 8th year the event has raised over $100,000 to fight cancer.

A group representing local New York public health agencies is against the potential legalization of marijuana in the state.
The director for the New York Association of County Health Officials tells Syracuse.com that in other states where weed is legal, traffic deaths and emergency room visits have increased significantly.
Sarah Ravenhall also called marijuana a gateway drug and is concerned about protecting infants and children to unintentional exposure.
Governor Cuomo plans to introduce legislation to legalize recreational pot this year.

Governor Cuomo will be giving his budget address next week.
He’ll be laying out his fiscal plan at the Empire State Plaza in Albany Tuesday.
Cuomo said in a radio interview yesterday the speech will also serve as this year’s State of the State.
The budget has to be passed by March 31st, which is the end of the state’s fiscal year.

Buffalo Sabres Captain Jack Eichel is hoping to return to the lineup tonight.
His team will be in Raleigh, North Carolina, to take on the Carolina Hurricanes.
Eichel has missed the last three games due to injury, but took part in practice yesterday for the first time since late December.
Face off for tonight’s game is set for 7:30 p.m.
