City Police conducted a traffic stop on Hyde Park in Batavia that ended with two alleged drug dealers in lock-up.
During the traffic stop Thursday afternoon officers found a quantity of narcotics and marijuana in a vehicle driven by 27 year old Christopher Ridgeway of Midlothian Virginia with 20 year old Shonje Jefferson of Rochester as a passenger.
Both men were arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of a Narcotic Drug with intent to sell along with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana and Ridgeway was also charged with counts of Aggravated Unlicensed Operation and having an Obstructed View.
Ridgeway and Jefferson were committed without bail to the County Jail.

The cause of a fatal two car crash that killed an Alabama man remains under investigation by the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office.
According to deputies 17 year old Matthew Murzynowski of Akron crossed his 2003 Dodge Ram into oncoming traffic at the intersection of Bloomingdale Road and Tesnow Road in Alabama Friday afternoon colliding head on with a 2019 Chevy Equinox operated by 78 year old Leroy George Alabama.
Murzynowski was transported to a local Hospital for minor injuries while George was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Investigation into the cause of the crash remains on-going.

An Orleans County woman arrested in Batavia after repeatedly providing a false ID to officials.
28 year old Kay Dilker of Sunset Drive in Holley was arrested on multiple counts of False Personation after she allegedly claimed to be another person while in Batavia for methadone treatment.
When she was later identified police discovered that she had several active warrants in two other counties and was turned over to the Orleans County Sheriff’s Office.
Dilker allegedly continued to lie about her identity to City Police after being detained for a separate incident two days later and was ultimately released with appearance tickets for City Court on July 9th.

A Rochester resident arrested for roughing up a middle schooler in Batavia.
58 year old George Sakis of Chili Ave in Rochester was arrested and charged with Harassment and Endangering the Welfare of a Child following an incident at the Batavia Middle School on Ross Street in the City.
Sakis is accused of grabbing a juvenile by the neck and pushing him while threatening physical harm to another juvenile at the school.He was issued an appearance ticket for tomorrow in Batavia City Court.

State police are keeping an extra eye out for dangerous drivers during this July 4th holiday week.
They’ll be taking part in increased patrols through Friday where they’ll be looking for people under the influence of drugs or alcohol while behind the wheel.
Last year, police issued over 10,000 vehicle and traffic tickets during the holiday weekend.
216 people were arrested for DWI and there were 165 crashes that resulted in four deaths.

Governor Cuomo has signed off on a bill banning the gay and trans panic legal defense.
The legal strategy has been used in some cases where the defendant has tried to justify attacking someone by saying they acted only after learning about their victim’s sexual orientation.
The governor says the new law will end the justification of homophobia.
Similar legislation is also in effect in several other states.
