The Genesee County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a two car crash that occurred at the intersection of Route 98 and Lockport Road in the Town of Elba that ended with three people in the hospital.
The crash was reported at around quarter after six Sunday evening when according to deputies a red 2009 Chevy Silverado operated by 56 year old Edward Buczek of Elba was travelling southbound on 98 when a black 2017 Subaru operated by 28 year old Ashwin Millikarjunaswamy of Rochester allegedly failed to stop heading westbound on Lockport Road.

According to the Sheriff’s Office the female passenger of the Subaru did sustain serious injury and is currently listed in stable condition at Strong Memorial Hospital.
At this time investigators do not believe that drugs or alcohol were a contributing factor in the crash.
Millkarjunaswamy has been ticketed for both failing to stop and failing to yield at a stop sign while the crash remains under investigation.

A Ross Street resident is behind bars for assault with a weapon.
Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a School Road residence in Stafford for a reported disturbance where they took 49 year old Ryan Sharlow into custody.
Sharlow was accused of striking and injuring someone after hitting them in the head with a blunt object and then also threatened another victim with the weapon.
He was charged with Assault and Menacing with a Weapon both in the second degree along with Criminal Mischief.
Sharlow was remanded to the Genesee County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail and is schedule to reappear in Stafford Town Court on September 10th.

An Oakfield man jailed under Leandra’s Law.
56 year old Michael George of Lewiston Road in Oakfield was stopped on Lewiston Road in Batavia late Saturday night after he allegedly was seen moving from a lane unsafely.
He was allegedly driving while intoxicated and was driving with a child less than 16 years old in the vehicle.
Because of his prior DWI conviction and under Leandra’s Law George was hit with felony counts of DWI and Aggravated DWI and was committed to the Genesee County Jail in lieu of $1,000 bail.
He is expected to reappear in Batavia Town Court on September 23rd.

The temperatures are falling, and so are gas prices in Western New York.
According to Triple A, the average cost for a gallon of regular gas is now $2.73.
That’s down two cents from last week and nine cents in the past month.
The state average is $2.77, while nationally it’s $2.57.
