An Orleans County woman will have some extra spending money after winning a big scratch-off ticket prize.
State lotto officials say Nichole Williams of Knowlesville won a million bucks through the Triple Double 777 Red Hot game.
The prize winnings couldn’t have come at a better time for Williams who nearly died from surgery last year after a cancer diagnosis…
After her brush with death Williams was inspired by her care-providers to go back to school and is going to be working as a CNA at a Medina nursing home.
Williams was presented a ceremonial prize check by NY Lotto’s Yolanda Vega at the Crosby’s in Elba where her friend purchased the lucky ticket as birthday present.
Williams says she’ll use the money to pay-off medical bills to Roswell, and to save for her family with the exception of one fun purchase…
Williams chose to take the lump-sum payment, bringing her total winnings to just over 537-thousand dollars.

Governor Cuomo will be at the White House today for a meeting with President Trump.
They’re expected to discuss a recent Trump administration decision to prevent Empire State residents from taking part in travel programs that allow folks to quickly pass through airport checkpoints and borders.
The Department of Homeland Security says the change was made in reaction to New York’s Green Light Law which allows undocumented immigrants to apply for driver’s licenses.
Federal officials say the policy is a problem since it prevents access to state DMV records.
The governor says one possible compromise is DMV information will be shared on a case by case basis and only involve people applying for Trusted Traveler and Global Entry
