Genesee County Deputies have arrested a Hillside Ave man on multiple counts after investigating a violation of a court order of protection at an Ellicott Street address in Batavia.
The alleged violation occurred Monday when deputies say 40 year old Calvin Rodriguez made threatening gestures towards a protected party.
During the interview with lawmen Rodriguez allegedly attempted to flee and resist deputies, however he was taken into custody and a search warrant was executed on his residence which ended with officers uncovering multiple drugs including methamphetamine.
Rodriguez was charged with Criminal Contempt, Obstruction, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance along with other drug related charges. He was ordered to be held on the count of Contempt.
A Fatal crash in Wyoming County remains under investigation.
A woman has died and two children are injured following a crash yesterday afternoon in at the intersection of East Lake Road and Route 39.
The accident occurred as a tractor-trailer driver was turning north onto Route 39 and did not see a southbound SUV which reportedly drove underneath the tractor-trailer.
The 38 year old woman operating the SUV died with two children in the backseat suffering non-life-threatening injuries.
Wyoming County Sheriff’s deputies say the crash is under investigation but that dense fog appears to have been a “significant factor.”
A Winter Storm Warning is going into effect this evening according to the National Weather Service out of Buffalo.
The Warning is to be in effect for Niagara, Orleans, Northern Erie, and Genesee counties from 10 this evening until 1 o’clock Thursday afternoon.
Forecasters are calling for heavy snow fall with total accumulations of 5 to 9 inches and winds gusting as high as 50 mph.
Travel will become very difficult with very poor visibility and snow covered roadways.
Tomorrow’s morning commute is expected to be greatly impacted.
The Livingston County sheriff says remains found in Geneseo over the weekend still haven’t been identified.
They were discovered in a wooded area off Route 20A on Sunday.
Officials believe the remains could be those of David Clyde Morgan.
He’s been missing since 2018 after pointing a gun at a police officer during a traffic stop in Geneseo.
Sheriff Tom Dougherty says the University of North Texas will now try and identify the remains.
The Buffalo Sabres will be in the Mile High City in search of a third straight win tonight.
They’ll be visiting the Colorado Avalanche at Pepsi Center.
New Sabres Wayne Simmonds and Dominik Kahun are expected to be in the lineup after being acquired in trades Monday.
Buffalo is in the hunt for a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference with just 20 games left in the season.
Faceoff for tonight’s contest is set for 8 p.m.
