Serious injury reported in crash at corner of Route 98 and West Saile Drive

A head-on collision has been reported at Route 98 and West Saile Drive in Batavia with Town of Batavia Fire, Mercy Medics and law enforcement responding.
Both female drivers were reported to be out of their vehicles and were alert when first responders arrived on scene.
According to reports from the scene one driver was a 36 year old from Kent and the other was a 53 year old from Elba.
The crash occurred as the two vehicles were heading opposite directions on Route 98 when the southbound tried turning left onto West Saile Drive.
Mercy flight was called then cancelled and both drivers were taken via ambulance to Strong Memorial Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
The Northbound lane of Route 98 is closed at West Saile Drive.
The accident remains under investigated.
