“Go Fund Me” for Stumblin Inn Owners
Written by Dan Fischer on July 12, 2018
For nearly 40 years Steve and Jim Goff, owned and managed the Stumblin’ Inn in Elba.
The pair were left homeless with nearly all of their belongings lost in the blaze this past weekend and they now face a massive excavation cost with no income to make it up.
Fire investigators have determined the fire was accidental however there was no fire insurance on the structure, so now they are straddled with the cost of tearing down what’s left of the 143 year old building which is estimated between $20,000 and $25,000.
The Stumblin’ Inn hosted many community fundraisers over the years and now Jim’s daughter, Jess Goff has set up a GoFundMe account asking for $40,000 to help her dad and uncle get back on their feet.
